what I want for my birthday!
to treat myself so well as a general practice that I now struggle to figure out what to do for my birthday is a testament to how completely I've reparented myself: there's nothing special to "save" for my birthday because, if I want it and can afford it, I do it. in every way possible--geographically, emotionally, financially--my life is a world away from how I grew up.
the woman I am today is my gift to myself: I know her, I dreamt her, I built her, I love her.
to the friends who've asked about sending me physical gifts: while I sincerely appreciate the sentiment (because you know your girl loves a treat 😂), I neither have the suitcase space, nor an address permanent enough to give you.
instead, if you're so inclined, I'd love either of the following things:
- give a gift to the Garden Grant (that's where most of my own money goes, anyway)
- do something lovely and whimsical for yourself or for someone else, and absolutely tell me about it. I love hearing all the ways I inspire you to either treat yourself well or someone else, and/or step out of your comfort zones. truly, few things feed my ego more🧚🏿♀️❤️
cheers, to another fabulous turn around the sun!

if this is your introduction to me, hi! I'm Maacah. I call this blog "sponsored by serendipity" because that's what I say about my life--I don't make plans; serendipity makes them for me. you'll also often see me refer to my life as a sitcom, in reference to the fact that, while everything always works out in the end, sometimes it's in the most absurd ways possible. so, I've resigned myself to the shenanigans--they tend to make for good stories, anyway.
besides, some things only make sense if I imagine they were written for the amusement of an imaginary studio audience.
this site is both my journal and portfolio, rolled into one. if you find me inspiring, amusing, or otherwise compelling, support my content with a monthly subscription. even if you're not a paying subscriber, create a free account to support the shenanigans as I work to transition my content entirely away from Meta-owned platforms.
