I eat my feelings, but I do it with flair. Between my dinner parties, my food blog, and being a published hand model+food stylist, 8y.o. Maacah would be thrilled with how often Adult Me gets paid to play with food.
A Chef's Playground. You're invited to bring an open-end and empty stomach.
I turned an Instagram tag into a series of pop up restaurant experiences (you can follow the #MaacahEats hashtag for food recs.) I've lived all over the world, and few things have the power of food to bring people together. Bored with what I felt were limited culinary offerings in my city, and wanting people to relate to my personal attachment and experiences to food, I funneled my frustration into this platform and did what I do best: made moments.
MaacahEats connects people by bringing them out of their social silos; encourages chefs to play; and, facilitates complex conversations about food, culture, and the intersections of both. We've watched carnivores clean their plates during a fully vegan dinner; invited grown adults to dress up for a traditional tea party with hundreds of pieces of vintage fine china; and, partnered with West Elm to host a gastronomic girls' night in.
It began with Chef Eryka treating us to dissolving chocolate spheres filled with orange-pomegranate mousse, fresh berries, and white chocolate, all topped with hot amaretto caramel. Then, James Beard award-winning chef Chris Hastings joined the fray, and there was no going back.
All *you* have to do is trust the chef. I take care of the rest.
