"what beautiful idea do you have to engage or inspire your community?"
an extension of my personal brand and belief that "whimsy is vital," the Garden Grant is an arts grant for seeding metaphorical gardens, not literal ones. we welcome broad definitions of art by varied definitions of artists: art as expressions of joy, as activism, and as civic engagement. the less traditional an idea, the better.
on the backend, we challenge the institution of traditional philanthropy--as people have heard me say over and over: stop making people jump through five hundred hoops for the chance at $500. the more experimental the funder, the better.
the Garden Grant invites you to grow something beautiful.
while applications are currently closed as I replenish the Grant's capacity, you're invited to support me in doing so here.
if you like the idea of encouraging people to do whimsical and interesting things in and for their communities, donate here.
if you're a funder or institutional leader who wants to discuss impact funding, reach out--my bonafides include being a Ford Foundation grantee, Aspen Ideas Festival fellow, and CGI delegate, among others.
thank you for your support!
grow something beautiful.
multidisciplinary. multifaceted.
